Our Story

We are Martin and Cathy Carson...plus our 5 puppy handlers! We started breeding with some of the best Standard Poodle lines in Canada in 2008.  After around 7 years, when we had 3 children, we decided at that time to place our dogs in pet homes and focus our energy on our family. We kept one Standard Poodle that we bred, Daisy (who passed away in 2021). We then went on to have 2 more human babies, who are now aged almost 6 & 8! Feeling like we are in a place that we could focus on breeding again, we purchased Hero in 2018.We then added 3 girls to our program, Tetley, Priscilla and Pebbles.  We decided that in order to focus on providing such an  excellent variety of colours and patterns, we'd expand using guardian homes.  While we don't want too many dogs here, this allows us to give all of our dogs enough attention and not have to find retirement homes for them.  Some of our "up and commers" including, Darla, Penny, Magnum, and Lulu, are hanging out in great families until they are ready to be bred.  After breeding is done, the dogs will be spayed or neutered and stay with their family.

Here on our acreage we have a few small animals, like rabbits, cats, ducks, quail and chickens.  These are raised for our own food.  We have nearly 11 acres with a big, old house and a well treed yard. Our dogs have large runs for daytime, with a heated kennel for maintaining space when dogs are not due to be bred.  All of our dogs are house trained and will adjust well into new homes if they leave.  All of our puppies are born here, and spend most of their time in the house until they can go out during the day, weather permitting.

You will find that we are honest in our dealings. As breeders, we do our best and consider the most sensible route for each dog we have. We try our best to research all the lines of our dogs, while talking to our breeder mentors. We utilize Poodle health databases and pedigrees online to determine if a puppy is good for our breeding program. After talking to many breeders over the years, we have learned some about which lines have what kind of health concerns. In re-starting our breeding program this time, we have chosen lines that have strong, healthy solid coloured dogs in there. We love the parti's, tri-coloured, phantom and brindle dogs, but know that to get the very best, they have to have the freshness of top quality, heavily health tested solid coloured lines. This is why we will have a lot more solid coloured puppies this go round. Please feel free to email us with any questions you might have for us!
