ANNOUNCEMENT!
As some of you know we've been having some health challenges for a few years.  This has caused us to make a decision to place some of our dogs in guardian homes.  Hero and Lincoln are looking for guardian homea.  Each dog is needing a specific type of home and if you're interested please fill out a puppy application and add some details about your home so we can get the best fit.  This is extremely hard for us, but we feel it's best for now.  All of our dogs are house trained, crate trained and good on leash.  A secure yard is a must.  Lincoln and Hero have excellent recall.   Pictured below, Hero is first then Lincoln.

A bit about what a guardian home is, and why we sometimes choose this option.

When Martin and I had 3 children, we decided to take a break from breeding.  It was a heart breaking decision to place our beloved dogs in pet homes.  We carefully chose where each of our dogs went.  Years later, we all still miss them!  Our dogs had only known our home, but adjusted well to their new homes.  Truthfully, I sometimes still get flack from our kids or my husband about the dog they miss the most.  We realize that placing a young pup in their forever home can prevent a lot of heartache for us, but also for the dog who is rehomed.  A guardian family loves the dog from the start, and the dog will never need to be rehomed.

Another thing that is critical in breeding with care and thought is that we intend to do this long term.  We are not backyard breeders who decide on a whim to breed their dog.  We have the future of our breeding operation constantly in our thoughts.  Currently we have 5 dogs living with us.  Daisy, who is the grandmotherly type. Yeah, she should have her own page because she rocks!  She is turning 11 in 2021.  She is the brown beauty on our home page.  We also have Pebbles, Hero, Tetley and Priscilla here.  All of our dogs are crate trained, house dogs.  We have a kennel for practical purposes, like when we have pups in the house and it gets busy/wild and crazy.  We have 5 kids and 5 dogs, it makes for some chaos, especially when you add in a litter of pups.  It is vital to keep spending time with each dog.  We don't want our dogs to lack attention, so we don't want more dogs here.

Another vital thing to keep in mind is that we have Hero here.  In order to keep a girl pup from him, she can't stay here.  That's the bottom line.  We cannot have any accidental breedings of father to daughter!

So, the reality is that this can be a blessing for a family who wants to experience being a part of the breeding process.  There are a couple of different types of agreements that can be made.  If you're still reading...THANK YOU!  If you have met us you know that we are forthright and transparent.  Our heart is to do things in a reasonable, down to earth fashion that just makes sense.  This is a relationship that has to flow, so we try our best to find the right family to work with in this fashion.
