Breeding Standard Poodles of Distinction

We are Martin and Cathy, together we are raising our family in Southern Manitoba.  We enjoy raising well socialized, healthy and gentle companions for other families.  We know that the time we spend with your puppy in the first several weeks will making a lasting impact on the pup's health.  Our dogs are all house trained and a part of the family.  They are not kennel dogs, and if they retire and find a new family....they can transition smoothly into a new situation.  We do health testing and research lines.  Cathy talks to breeders that have mentored her over the years, to get insight into various dogs in pedigrees...things that are not on the health databases show up all the time.  It is vital to have mentors, and to mentor!  This is the breed for us.  We know that paying attention to just one breed will produce better, healthier lines.  Standard Poodles are the ONLY breed for us.  We love their non shedding, highly intelligent, family ways!  We would never be without one.  Our opinion on designer dogs is this: Labs don't improve a Standard Poodle.  Bernese Mountain dogs don't improve a Standard Poodle.  Golden Retrievers don't improve a Standard Poodle.  Old English Sheepdogs don't improve a Standard Poodle.  Wheaten Terriers don't improve a Standard Poodle.  Oh my goodness, I could even go on more!  I won't though.  I think you can see that we feel Standard Poodles cannot be improved upon.  We strive to improve the multi coloured Standard Poodles by diversity in lines and carefully selecting breeding dogs.
